The 2012 Spartan/Gator Ryder Cup golf tournament was held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Santa Maria Golf course in Baton Rouge. The tournament featured nearly 100 players from East Ascsension and St. Amant.

The winner of the golf tournament was the St. Amant Gators by a score of 45.5 to 32.5.

The event is sponsored by the Spartan/Gator Shoutout Club which raises money to support athletics at East Ascension High School and St. Amant High School. Other activities include a jambalaya sale and a community pep rally.
