GONZALES, LA (WAFB)- Authorities said a man was arrested after a meth lab was found at his home during a routine probation visit Tuesday.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said Scott Bateman, 36, of Gonzales was charged with operating a clandestine meth lab, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He is awaiting bond.
Deputies said agents with the Louisiana State Probation and Parole found what they thought was a meth lab and called the sheriff's office to investigate further. APSO confirmed the meth lab.
Officials said narcotics detectives and a hazardous materials team removed the meth lab and properly disposed of all of the materials.
Bateman was on probation for possession of meth and simple burglary.
