Texas Brine hosting community meeting Wednesday | Events
Texas Brine officials are hosting a community meeting to update residents about the sinkhole. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Assumption Parish Community Center.
The smell of gas and soot cover the swampy channels in Assumption Parish. Homes have been evacuated and for nearly two months, scientists have been parked at the Texas Brine property. They are drilling, measuring and analyzing material to determine what caused the large sinkhole.
